JEE Main 2019 Exam Pattern: Complete Information for Paper 1 and Paper 2



JEE Main question paper is designed to test the knowledge of the candidate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. JEE 2019 Main Exam Pattern comprises of 2 papers. Paper 1 is for admission to B.Tech courses and paper 2 is for admission to architecture courses. JEE Main 2019 will be conducted in Jan from Jan 6 till Jan 20, 2019 and in April from April 6 till April 20, 2019 for admission to engineering courses (B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch) in the most reputed engineering institutes of the country like NITs, ISM, and other prestigious institutes.

JEE Main 2019 Exam Pattern

Let us now know about JEE Main Exam Pattern in detail. There will be two papers for JEE Main 2019. Paper 1 is conducted for the candidates opting for B.E/B.Tech engineering courses, whereas Paper 2 is conducted for the candidates opting for Architecture courses (B.Arch./B.Planning).

Aspirants can apply for both the papers. Paper 1 will have objective type multiple choice questions comprising 3 subjects, viz Physics, Chemistry and Maths. There will be 90 questions altogether. Paper 2 will have both objective and subjective questions. The questions consist of Mathematics test, aptitude test and drawing test. There will be 82 questions altogether. The test duration of each paper will be 3 hours.

Sketching of scenes and activities from memory of urbanscape (public space, market, festivals, street scenes, monuments, recreational spaces etc.), landscape (river fronts, jungles. gardens, trees, plants etc.) and rural life.

For 2019 admissions, JEE Main exam notifications were released on September 1st 2018 and the candidates filled the application forms from 1st September, 2018 to 30th September, 2018.

So far, JEE Main was conducted once a year in the month of April. But there had been discussions going on for conducting the exam more than once in a year. It is conducted in online mode. The practice of two-tier JEE exam will continue in 2019 in which all candidates who clear JEE Main are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced examination to get admission in the IITs. Joint counseling for IITs and NITs will be continued and from 2018, board marks will not be counted for the rankings.

 Important Instructions for Preparing JEE Main 2019 Exam Pattern

  • First of all, stay healthy physically and mentally so that you can work towards your goal with a positive state of mind.
  • Prepare a timetable and follow it strictly.
  • Prepare for the exam as per the JEE Main 2019 Syllabus.
  • Prepare for mock tests.
  • Solve the model papers and sample questions within a certain time period.
  • Once you get your OMR sheet, fill in your name, roll number, application number correctly.
  • Read the entire question paper carefully and start solving the easy questions first.
  • Time management is very essential.
  • Give one answer to each question. Do not mark 2 answers for a question. It will be considered invalid.
  • Mark the OMR sheets clearly.
  • Take extra pencils and pens with you.
  • For drawing test, carry your own pencil, eraser, geometry box.
