JEE Main is the National level undergraduate engineering examination in India. Taking this exam and clearing it ensures admission to top engineering colleges across the nation. JEE Main registration for January 2019 attempt is now closed. Aspirants have applied in huge numbers for the new format of JEE Main. This year, the exam will be conducted in CBT or online mode. Application form is also in online format from this year. These changes have been bought in by the new governing body NTA. However, syllabus of the exam remains same.

Application form correction facility was also available for candidates to change the mistakes they committed while filling the form. It was open between October 8 and 14, 2018 to correct candidate details other than academic information. Correction facility is only one-time facility for correction and making any changes after this stage is not possible.

There are certain documents that need to be kept handy before filling the JEE Main application form. Here are the documents-
- Scanned copy of signature and photograph
- Education certificates of class 10th and 12th (if applicable)
- Credit/debit card or net banking details
- Aadhar card
These documents have to be uploaded in a particular size, as mentioned by NTA on their official site. Not following the image size, results in rejection of the application form.
Once all the details are uploaded, payment of fees ensures completion of application process. When Application form is submitted and corrected, there are still 2 months before the examination in January, 2019. During this time, candidates might want to check the status of receipt of Application Form. Candidates can check the status of their application form on the official site of NTA on December 17, 2018. Details that will be put on the site are as under-
- Applications received with fees
- Roll number of candidates
- Exam date, shift, and center
In case you have filled the form and submitted the fees as well but your name does not appear on the site, you can contact the authorities. The Help Line number is available between December 17 and 23, 2018 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Keep the following documents handy and contact the Help Line number of NTA:
- Proof of fees paid. It can be photocopy of the transaction through Debit/Credit card and Net Banking. Please note if the fees is not paid within the prescribed last date, application is considered incomplete or unsuccessful.
- Print out of the confirmation page.
There is no extension in the date of non-receipt of Application form and must be done on/before December 23, 2018. Only the candidates who have successfully completed the application form will be eligible to download admit card for JEE Main 2019. Without the admit card, no candidate is allowed to sit for the exam. So, it is mandatory to carry a hard copy of the admit card to the exam center on the day of exam. Admit card should be retained till the counselling for JEE Main is complete.
Also, candidates should regularly visit the NTA site for latest updates. It is advised to check the mail inbox and SMS on the registered mobile number where the updates are sent.
