JOSAA 2019 Notification is out and the counselling is slated to start from second week of June 2019. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is the authority responsible for conducting the counselling procedure to allot seats in the participating colleges through the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. This year, JEE Main would be conducted twice, firstly in Jan from Jan 6 till Jan 20, 2019 and the later one would be conducted in April from April 6, 2019 to April 20, 2019.
The exam would be held in online mode only.The result for JEE Main is scheduled session wise, for Jan session, the result would get declared till Jan 30, 2019 and for April session, result would be declared till April 30, 2019.
The official JoSAA 2019 Notification and seat matrix is yet to be released. However, the entire schedule and list of participating institutes is already published. This year 100 institutes are participating in JoSAA Counselling for more than 34,000 seats in the undergraduate degree courses include Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

JoSAA 2019 Registration and Counselling Process
To register for the counselling process, candidates need to visit josaa.nic.in. During the JoSAA 2019 registration, candidates need to specify and lock their choices for the preferred colleges and courses. This list will be considered as per the All India Rank (AIR) of the candidates and the available seat as per the precedence of their rank would be allocated to them.

The seat allocation for all the institutions will be carried out through seven different rounds. Post every round, candidates may accept the seat allocated to them, if any. Note that post accepting a seat, the candidate will not be able to attend the next round of the counselling.
After the seats are allotted, candidates will be required to visit their nearby JoSAA reporting centre for the verification of their documents. To confirm the acceptance of their allotted seats, candidates have to complete the payment of their seat acceptance fee, post which they may visit their allotted institute for confirming their admission.
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is responsible for allocating seats to students for admission to participating institutes, based on their JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. JoSAA Counselling Procedure will be conducted in online mode based on candidates’ preferences during choice filling/locking and seat availability. However, to complete document verification process and accept an allotted seat, students will have to report at their JoSAA Reporting Centres.

JEE Main 2019 Counseling process is scheduled to start from June 15. JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) manages the counselling and seat allocation process for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main Result for Paper I was published on April 30 while the result for Paper II was released on May 31. The schedule and seat matrix for JoSAA 2019 is released at josaa.nic,in.
The business rules for JoSAA is expected to be published soon after the announcement of JEE Advanced Result on June 10. JoSAA 2019 is expected to feature around 100 participating institutes. The centralized counselling procedure will be conducted in online mode. Shortlisted candidates have to register on official site of JoSAA and provide choices for course and college from the available list in the order of their preference.
