BITSAT is a university level entrance examination conducted by Birla Institute of Technology & Science. BITSAT is meant for admission into B.E. (hons), B.Pharm. (hons) and other higher degree courses. According to BITSAT exam pattern, it will be a completely online test which you can give only in English language. As you go through BITS exam pattern, you must thoroughly see exam syllabus as well. It is generally comprised of class 11th and 12th NCERT books. The subjects assessed are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning.

The Application form will be available from third week of December, 2018 till second week of March, 2019. The exam will be conducted from third week to last week of May, 2019. You have to fill the form in the online mode itself. There is no offline form facility for BITSAT 2019. You can appear for BITSAT for as many times as you want, there is no restriction on the number of attempts.

BITSAT Exam Pattern

BITSAT exam pattern is same as the last year. The exam will be held in online mode only and English language. The paper will be conducted in 2 slots i.e. from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.


Following is the detailed information of BITSAT exam pattern:

  • There are total 150 MCQ questions
  • Total time duration given to complete the paper is 3 hours
  • The medium of the paper will be in English language only
  • The test will be conducted on the basis of NCERT syllabus for class 11th and 12th
  • BITSAT is a computer-based test. Students can answer the questions with the help of mouse or keyboard
  • Following are the sections in the exam- Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning

Marking scheme of BITSAT exam is as follows:

  • For every correct answer, students will be awarded 3 marks
  • For every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted
  • No marks will be deducted or given for unanswered questions

  • If students are done with all 150 questions, they can also attempt extra 12 questions in the remaining time
